Job description
Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join a growing team, specialising in the maintenance, service, and repair of agricultural and horticultural machinery. This role will involve both workshop-based and field-based work, providing technical support to customers and ensuring machinery is kept in optimum working condition.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of agricultural and horticultural machinery, including tractors, mowers, compact tractors, utility vehicles, cultivators, and related equipment.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
  • Perform fault finding and troubleshooting using both mechanical knowledge and diagnostic equipment.
  • Support customers on-site and provide effective technical advice and solutions.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship, keeping detailed service and repair records.
  • Manage parts ordering, stock levels, and liaise with suppliers where required.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and safe working practices.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Service Engineer / Technician working with agricultural, horticultural, or plant machinery.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Good IT literacy for diagnostic tools and service reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential).
