Job description

We have an exciting, new opportunity to join the Online team at Fortnum & Mason as our SEO Marketing Manager. We're looking for an enthusiastic SEO specialist with hands-on experience. Used to working in a fast-paced retail environment, you can apply yourself to traditional SEO requirements and adapt for AI and fragmented search. You will manage the workstream with the agency and internal teams, working collaboratively towards channel success for Online and the wider business. An understanding of the wider digital marketing mix, particularly Paid Search and the management of the SERP holistically, is crucial.

Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Create and execute comprehensive SEO roadmaps and content strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Channel management: Responsible for the delivery of the SEO channel end-to-end including keyword research, competitor analysis and technical audits
  • Reporting: Weekly performance reporting and analysis, providing actionable insight to the business focusing on global incremental growth, globally
  • Monitor performance: Use tools such as AHREFS, Botify, Adobe Analytics and GSC
  • Agency management: Consider the agency as part of the team and support them in prioritisation of Tech, Trade, Content, PR and Social actions against business-wide priorities
  • Best practice: Educate internal teams on SEO best practice and ensure compliance with the guidance
  • Demand analysis: Use SEO tools to provide demand trend analysis for the business; what do customers want and what behaviours do they have across the fragmented search landscape
  • Landscape analysis: Stay up-to-date with SEO and ecommerce trends, algorithm updates, industry best practices and the development of AI
  • 4+ years in SEO roles, ideally with experience in retail
  • Proven success managing ecommerce SEO campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of site architecture, crawl optimisation, Core Web Vitals and schema
  • Expert in GA4/Adobe, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush or comparable tools
  • Real understanding of the impact of AI on SEO (/GEO)
  • Digital PR experience is preferred
  • Data-orientated approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel and analysis of large data sheets is required
  • Proven success in delivering results against a plan
  • Technical aptitude and experience in troubleshooting technical issues
