Job description
Overview

We lead the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. We employ around 17,000 staff in our global network of 281 offices worldwide. Our UK-based staff work in King Charles Street in London, Abercrombie House in East Kilbride and in Milton Keynes.

Your role with us

Our Commercial Systems and Management Information team are responsible for the systems, data and tools our commercial team use, serving over 200 staff around the world, and responding to wider FCDO and cross-government needs. As a curious, solutions-oriented, data-driven Senior Analyst, you’ll work across the Commercial directorate, which includes overseas hubs and posts, as you identify and implement system-related improvements across the entire procurement lifecycle, and create, develop and improve how data, systems and tools are used.

Partnering with a number of other teams as you drive data quality, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that Jaggaer, our eSourcing platform, is configured and fit-for-purpose. In addition, we’ll expect you to oversee commercial contract transparency reporting, help to develop a culture of accountability and responsibility, and act as a change catalyst as you encourage opportunities for continuous improvement. Championing and raising the profile of your team at cross-government and industry forums, you’ll also be committed to promoting digitalisation and innovation, and keep up to speed with the latest developments in your field.

Who we’re looking for

To be a success in this important role you should have excellent digital, stakeholder, change and project management skills, and well-developed experience of working on digital projects, data flows, business processes and the implementation and configuration of systems. Capable of dealing positively with any issues or risks you face, you’ll also have a strong understanding of software applications, databases, IT projects and service management.

We’ll expect you to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and with this in mind you’ll be ready to drive change and development in a sustainable way, and encourage a diverse range of stakeholders as they join us on our journey of innovation and digitalisation. You should have the confidence to run a number of projects at the same time, and possess the ability to research, benchmark, scope, design, implement and evaluate project delivery to tight deadlines.

We encourage applications from all communities, so that we reflect the very best of 21st century Britain. Everyone here gets the support to develop their skills and capabilities as well as benefits that help to make the most of life in and out of work, including a Civil Service pension.
