Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Mercury Hampton are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy who have recently entered an exciting growth phase following major project wins across the UK. They specialise in delivering complex engineering solutions within Advanced Manufacturing, Government, Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure and Utilities.

Due to sustained growth across the Building Services division we are looking to speak with talented Mechanical Design Engineers and Senior Mechanical Design Engineers who are passionate about technical delivery and real progression opportunities.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a strong and supportive engineering team working on a mix of projects from multiple smaller schemes to large flagship high-value programmes. You’ll be working alongside Principals and Technical Directors contributing at detailed design level and helping shape technical excellence within the business.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering Stage 4 / 5 RIBA Plan of Work detailed mechanical building services design
  • Producing detailed design models using Revit / BIM
  • Developing calculations across HVAC heating / cooling loads, pipework & ductwork sizing
  • Supporting multidisciplinary coordination and problem‑solving with architectural & structural teams
  • Contributing to concept development through to construction‑level design
  • Opportunity to lead packages independently and provide guidance to junior engineers
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven mechanical building services design experience (degree or apprenticeship route considered)
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, British Standards & CIBSE guidance
  • Experience with Revit HEVACOMP / HAP TAS or similar design / calculation tools
  • Able to work as part of a collaborative team and hit the ground running
  • Motivated, proactive and passionate about delivering quality engineering solutions
