The Asset Management function within Altrad Babcock is a highly specialised engineering service and equipment provider supporting our customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset’s integrity lifecycle.
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Welding Engineer within our Asset Management sector to join our mission of delivering certified Asset Management services, consultancy, and integrated projects, across the global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets. You will be required to provide material, welding, heat treatment and NDT advice and procedures to our operational sites in the UK and overseas; review internal and external welding related documentation; maintain strong client working relationships and develop working relationships with site personnel. Working within the thermal/nuclear power station, petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors you will also support Welding Development along with internal training when required.
Our ideal Senior Welding Engineer will have a demonstratable track record across Nuclear, Process, Renewables or Fusion markets, it is envisaged that you will be Degree or Diploma qualified in Metallurgy or Welding Engineering fields, preferably at, or working towards, EWE / CEng status. You should also have relevant experience of steam raising and process plant and the challenges these environments place upon materials and fabrication, hence problem-solving skills will also be required. The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative are both equally important.
Reporting to the Welding Engineering Department Head, you will also have strong technical knowledge of joining technologies, including up‑to‑date knowledge of Codes and Legislation.
