Overview

Senior Transport Planner - Gloucester

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Transport Planner to join a leading firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants with a proud heritage dating back to 1844 and over 30 offices across the UK.

As part of the Development Consultancy team, you will play a key role in supporting developer clients across both the public and private sectors, delivering innovative solutions to complex transport and planning challenges. This role is ideal for a Transport Planner with private practice experience, particularly those who thrive in a client-focused, consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.
  • Carrying out junction capacity modelling using JUNCTIONS, LINSIG, and other industry-standard software.
  • Undertaking data analysis and producing clear, evidence-based reports for submission to local authorities and clients.
  • Liaising with local authorities, highway officers, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Managing projects independently while collaborating with internal planning, agency, and building consultancy teams.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in private consultancy, ideally within a multidisciplinary or transport-specific practice.
  • Background advising developer clients on planning and transport matters.
  • Proficiency in junction modelling and capacity analysis tools (JUNCTIONS, LINSIG, etc.).
  • Strong technical report writing skills with a portfolio of professional outputs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Flexibility in working patterns, with a minimum of 3 days per week in-office.
