We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Transport Officer - Concessionary Travel & Ticketing to join our fantastic Passenger Transport Projects Team team. The team is based at Victoria Gate in Woking.
We support hybrid working and our time is split between collaborating together in the office and working from home. There will also be the requirement to attend other area offices and visit stakeholders around the county as needed.

The Passenger Transport Projects Team, in our Strategic Transport Group, is responsible for initiatives that make travel by public transport easier, more accessible, inclusive, and attractive for all our residents, visitors and businesses. Our Team Vision is to enhance the customer transport experience to provide safe, secure, accessible, and sustainable public transport alternatives to the private car. We want to ensure our residents can access key services to maintain healthy independent lives.
We are now looking to recruit a Senior Transport Officer to be part of this journey and help us deliver these improvements. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, customer focussed with passion and interest, and who will be committed to helping all our bus users.
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Surrey English National Concessionary Travel Scheme, bus pass scheme, and our hugely successful LINK card which offers half-fare travel for residents under 21. You will also take a lead role as we transition the multi-operator Acorn pass to digital ticketing.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation which will allow us to implement the Government led policy of devolution, which is all about giving more powers to local areas.
Currently, Surrey has a two-tier council system, with 11 district and borough councils and a county council, all responsible for different services.
