ROLE OVERVIEW
The Quality Control Technologist is responsible for conducting laboratory-based quality assessments to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a key part in maintaining robust quality control processes and supporting product development activities through accurate testing and documentation.
KEY OBJECTIVES & EXPECTATIONS
- Perform a range of laboratory quality checks to verify product conformity, using established methodologies and instrumentation.
- Maintain strict control over testing accuracy and output quality, ensuring all activities align with internal R&D processes and standards.
- Manage short‑and‑long‑term QC testing schedules, applying project management principles as needed.
- Contribute effectively as part of a team, operating in alignment with company expectations for safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
- Support laboratory operations through routine calibration and maintenance of scientific instruments.
- Assist with formulation preparation and related laboratory tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures, participate in job safety analysis, and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Uphold and contribute to the laboratory's ISO quality management system, including participation in audits.
- Promote and adhere to quality procedures and standards to help the business achieve consistent, high-level results.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Demonstrated hands‑on laboratory experience, with strong understanding of sample preparation and analytical techniques.
- Technical curiosity and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks based on business needs.
- Competence in producing and reviewing technical documentation for compliance.
- A proactive, team‑oriented mindset with a positive attitude and a focus on delivering results.
- Degree‑level qualification in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biosciences, or related fields).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
CONTRACT & PAY
Contract Duration: Until end of November 2026
Pay Rate: £17.89 per hour (PAYE)
