About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator (Finance Systems) is responsible for the management, configuration, and optimisation of the company’s finance system ecosystem — including Sage Intacct, interface with Salesforce (CRM), and related finance applications such as AvaTax, DataBlend, and expense management platforms.

This role ensures that financial data flows reliably and accurately across systems, with a particular focus on the Salesforce–DataBlend–Intacct integration. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a sound understanding of financial processes to support operational excellence, data integrity, and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Manage and maintain Sage Intacct and other finance‑related systems, ensuring stability, data quality, and compliance.
  • Integration Management: Oversee and optimise the end‑to‑end data flow between Salesforce and Sage Intacct, with specific responsibility for DataBlend middleware configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Ownership: Serve as the technical lead for key finance tools such as AvaTax, expenses platforms, and any supporting financial integrations.
  • Process Optimisation: Collaborate with Finance, Sales Operations, and Data teams to streamline system workflows and automate manual processes.
  • Change & Release Management: Plan and execute system changes, testing, and releases in line with established governance and change control frameworks.
  • User Support & Training: Provide subject matter expertise and user support to Finance and other business teams, ensuring effective adoption and understanding of finance systems.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance & Information Systems leaders to ensure finance system configurations align with broader enterprise architecture and data governance standards.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring system access, data handling, and configurations adhere to company policies and financial controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with platform releases and best practices, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or integration roles, with at least 3 years working directly with finance systems.
  • Sage Intacct Expertise: Hands‑on experience configuring and supporting Sage Intacct, including integrations and data structure understanding.
  • Integration Skills: Proven experience managing system integrations — ideally using DataBlend, or similar middleware/ETL tools — between CRM and ERP systems.
  • Salesforce Knowledge: Familiarity with Salesforce data objects and how they integrate with financial systems.
  • Finance Process Understanding: Strong knowledge of core financial processes (billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, expenses, and tax).
  • Technical Competence: Ability to troubleshoot data flows, APIs, and automation workflows across multiple systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, especially when working with Finance and Technical teams.
  • Governance: Experience operating within structured release & change management, documentation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with AvaTax, Expensify, Concur, or similar expense/tax platforms.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Power BI, or enterprise data integration tools.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Administrator or Platform App Builder.
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology‑led organisation supporting recurring revenue models.
  • Understanding of financial audit requirements.
