Job Vacancy: Senior Support Worker (Female only due to the needs of the service)

Location: Nottinghamshire

Contract: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £27,080.21

Due to our continued success, we are recruiting an experienced and passionate Senior Support Worker for a specialist complex service in Nottinghamshire. The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping people with complex needs and mental health conditions live a fulfilling and independent life. The individuals you support may show behaviours of concern or have a forensic background, and some may be supported under a care and treatment order or sections of the Mental Health Act. You will work closely with the service users to ensure they develop positive relationships and become valued members of their local community.

You will also support the management team in the daily running of our specialist service, which supports 10 service users across two services. Your responsibilities will include guiding and developing the support team, acting as a role model for excellent practice, and providing leadership in the absence of the manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support people to live as independently as possible while helping them achieve a fulfilled life.
  • Work alongside the management team to deliver person-centred support.
  • Act as a senior contact for the team in the absence of the Manager.
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to develop the team and ensure high standards of care.
  • Foster a positive, open, and communicative culture within the team and with external partners.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, professionals, and the local community.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with complex mental health conditions, including personality disorders (of all types), eating disorders, CPTSD, schizophrenia, psychosis, OCD, anxiety, and depression.
  • Proven experience supporting people with dissociative disorders, self-injurious behaviours, and those experiencing mental health crises.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Motivated, proactive, and able to think creatively to solve challenges.
  • A natural leader who can inspire and guide others.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A desire to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
