Job description

As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide high-quality support to individuals with autism and take on a leadership role, supervising and mentoring a team of Support Workers. You will assist in developing care plans, promote independence, and ensure the wellbeing of residents. This role combines direct support with team leadership for someone with care experience seeking the next step in their career.

What a Day Looks Like

In this role, you will:

  • Provide direct support to individuals with autism in day-to-day activities
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and maintaining a homely environment
  • Support residents in engaging in recreational, social, and educational activities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care
  • Develop and review tailored care plans to reflect each person’s strengths and goals
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and confidence for the individuals we support
  • Collaborate with families, professionals, and the wider team to ensure quality care
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records and reports in line with care standards
Qualifications
  • Experienced in supporting individuals with autism or in similar care settings
  • QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Passionate about making a difference and providing high-quality care
  • Great leaders, able to motivate and mentor a team while maintaining high standards
  • Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills
  • Committed to continuous learning and personal development
  • Flexible with shift patterns, including weekends and occasional night shifts
  • A driving licence is essential
