Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join my client, a highly-respected, well-established multidisciplinary consultancy, offering bespoke design services for a diverse range of projects across the civil, structural, and geotechnical sectors. My client is on the lookout for a motivated, experienced Senior Structural Engineer, capable of leading a growing team of specialist colleagues in the structural design of commercial, industrial, health, leisure, retail, and residential projects near York, as well as at other locations across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Designing a multitude of structures across commercial, industrial, and residential developments
  • Leading high-profile projects, from initial inception through to successful delivery
  • Forging, maintaining, and managing client relations across the public and private sectors
  • Representing the company at design team meetings and site visits
Required skills and experience
  • Hold a Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or similar, relevant background)
  • Be a Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE), or actively working at attain Chartership Status
  • Extensive relevant experience within a UK consultancy setting
  • Experience of working with new-build projects, to include good working knowledge of foundation and retaining wall design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all structural materials
  • Proficiency in preparing calculation packages and assisting colleagues with this
  • Demonstrable competency in the use of TEKLA and TEDDS, as well as AutoCAD
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of structural engineering inspection reports for a variety of building types and structures
  • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant technical standards, including Eurocodes
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Possess a sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety protocols, legal regulations, etc.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
  • Previous experience in roads and sewer design
  • Good working knowledge of Revit software
