Job description

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial, for both public and private clients.

Location: Liverpool

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility available

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Civil and Structural Engineering team in producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, and reports.
  • Coordinate design information within the team and with other disciplines like architecture and building services.
  • Develop and monitor structural concept strategies, ensuring sustainability and low carbon targets.
  • Visit sites, conduct surveys, inspections, and attend project meetings with clients and other professionals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, supporting professional development.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary building consents and support project consultations with authorities.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng in Structural or Civil Engineering, or Chartered Engineer status (CEng, Member, or Associate Member of relevant institutions).
  • Experience with structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design to British/European standards, knowledge of CDM regulations, and UK construction techniques.
  • Full driving license for site visits.
