Job description

Fraser Edwards is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Senior Stock Condition Surveyor for the Asset Strategy team for a large Social Housing Contractor. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a major investment programme of up to £200 million per year, improving the quality, safety, and sustainability of social housing.

You will provide technical leadership, oversee stock condition survey activity, ensure data quality, and support the development of long-term asset investment strategies in line with housing standards and legislation.

Duties:
  • Lead and undertake stock condition surveys across a varied social housing portfolio
  • Provide technical oversight of survey activity, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Manage, mentor, and support surveyors and/or external consultants
  • Review and validate property and asset data to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • Analyse survey data to inform capital investment programmes and asset planning
  • Identify property risks, defects, and customer needs, recommending practical solutions
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of long-term asset management strategies
  • Support continuous improvement of asset intelligence, systems, and survey methodologies
Experience:
  • Proven experience delivering stock condition surveys within social housing
  • Experience supporting or managing large-scale investment or capital programmes
  • Management or supervisory experience, including mentoring or leading technical staff
  • Strong experience working with property data, including analysis and interpretation of survey results
  • Ability to identify risks, compliance issues, and customer needs and provide effective solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of housing standards and legislation, including Minimum HND/HNC in Construction, Building Surveying, or a related technical discipline
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
