Job description

New Year New Job ! Take your Neonatal Nursing career to the next level.

We are looking for ambitious senior staff nurses to join the Neonatal Outreach Nursing Team on the Neonatal Unit at the Evelina London Children's Hospital.

We are a large supportive neonatal team who take pride in the high standards of care that we deliver and this is clearly demonstrated in the positive outcomes of the infants that we care for.

We are one of the biggest and busiest neonatal units in the country with a well established Neonatal Outreach Team offering a 7 day service in the community and can offer a wealth of experience to enhance your career as a neonatal nurse.

Every year, the number of children and young people Evelina London cares for, in our hospitals and throughout our local community, continues to grow. We support families from pre-conception, before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life.

We strive to recruit and retain staff who are motivated to develop and learn with us as we continually strive to ensure that our services are of the highest quality, safe, and focused on women, children and their families.

We are delighted to offer outstanding opportunities for experienced neonatal nurses who are eager to further develop their careers within a community setting. Our tertiary referral centre comprises 20 NICU cots, 12 HDU cots, 14 Special Care cots and 8 Transitional Care cots, providing an exceptional range of clinical experience. We care for infants with complex surgical, cardiac, neurological, renal and metabolic conditions, in addition to those born prematurely.

As a member of the Neonatal Outreach Team, you will work as an autonomous practitioner, delivering high-quality specialist nursing care to neonates within their own homes. You will play a key role in facilitating early discharge, reducing length of stay, and preventing avoidable hospital admissions. In this role, you will also provide clinical supervision to colleagues and students, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will consistently promote dignity, human rights, and person-centred principles in all aspects of practice.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK’s best known hospitals – Guy’s, St Thomas’, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield – as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.

We are committed to supporting flexible working; we want to support you to work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
