Up to £53,200 FTE DOE

  • Please note- basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, SpecialistManaging from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+*

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30-16.'è30pm

Contract :

Permanent ( Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

The role :

We are looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Upton Grange School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neuro‑divergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. This will guide your practice within an education setting and clarify your roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with full support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, also contributing to staff training and consultation as required. This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy

< منه>HCPC registered

1-2 yrs experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting.

Some relevant experience in a previously held job of engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.

  1. Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
  2. Some experience of multidisciplinary working in a range of settings
  3. Some experience of communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
  4. An interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  5. Good relationship‑building, analytical and judgmental skills
  6. Good communication skills (oral and written)
  7. Good time management and organisational skills
  8. Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCS Ribe standards
  9. Knowledge of different SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and understanding how to formulate support plans based on needs profile
  10. Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
  11. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
  12. Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client converts
  13. Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
  14. Some understanding of other differences, e.g. sensory and motor, which may impact on an individual’s communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs profile
  15. Some evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
  16. ASD experience
