Job description

The Senior Solution Architect orchestrates complex solution architectures to achieve key outcomes, aligning with our technology strategy. They enable teams to deliver efficiently by shaping the solution architecture for our lab and collaborating with Product Owners, engineering teams, and Enterprise Architects. Our mission is to securely manage customer data for Lloyds Banking Group, ensuring it is accessible for authorized purposes while maintaining performance, resilience, and data integrity. We also strive to uphold top‑tier engineering standards.

As a Senior Solution Architect, you thrive talking with stakeholders and designing innovative solutions that meet their requirements. Your designs are clean, easy to comprehend and remain cost effective to change over time. You enjoy designing for a cloud environment and know how to benefit from elasticity and resilience whilst remaining secure.

More specifically we'd like you to have much of the following, but it's ok if you don't check every box:

  • Proficient in interpreting diverse stakeholder requirements and transforming them into coherent, innovative designs that align with the strategic objectives of the organisation
  • Skilled at communicating designs to engineering teams and helping them break work down into deliverables
  • Excellent diagramming techniques for both data and system modelling
  • Experienced at designing performant and scalable systems that are cost effective to maintain and operate
  • Experienced with event‑driven, restful, micro‑service architectures as well as the SOLID design principles
  • Experienced at data modelling and domain segregation
  • Experienced at designing data pipelines for cloud platforms (ideally GCP)
  • Good at articulating architecture trade‑offs and selecting architectures according to best fit
  • Follow a security first architecture approach
  • Knowledge of Java, OOP, data structures and algorithms
  • Have a working knowledge of Agile and be familiar with its values and principles
  • Enjoy mentoring and motivating the teams around you
  • Have a growth mindset
