Job Overview

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who has primarily specialised in building backend systems, but also one who is keen to learn new things, make an impact and contribute across the stack - from Frontend to Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs and EDAs (Node, Nest, Kafka, Rabbit, PHP, Symfony)
  • Reverse‑engineer complex code to solve difficult problems
  • Lead implementing SLIs and SLOs to better understand our services (Grafana)
  • Develop and maintain complex user interfaces and web applications (React)
  • Lead CI/CD pipeline integration and optimisation with wider‑team and colleagues
  • Collaborate with your colleagues and be a strong team player
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Product Experience Domain

You will report into a Software Engineering Manager for the Zero Gravity squad in the Product Experiences Domain. You'll collaborate with your Product Manager, Engineering Team Lead, Delivery Manager and engineering colleagues to produce experiences that drive customer‑value.

Qualifications
  • Experience implementing asynchronous processing and messaging systems
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Experience implementing frontend frameworks
  • Experience building, optimising and maintaining production applications end‑to‑end
  • Experience with PostgreSQL & MySQL, including query optimisation and performance tuning
Preferred
  • Handling basic data migration and transformation processes
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration (Gitlab)
Bonus
  • Experience with microfrontends and component communication
  • Visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom
Experience Requirements
