Job summary

A leading organisation in renewable energy is seeking a Software Engineer for the Optimisation team, based in Reading. This role involves designing and developing the MIROS optimisation software to support the company’s goal of energising 1.5GW of renewable assets by 2030. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in software development, particularly in Python, along with knowledge of the GB electricity market. The position offers a hybrid working model, accommodating both in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the GB electricity market and relevant ancillary services for batteries.
• Proven experience in software development, particularly in Python.
• Experience with technologies such as Python, SQL, Git, AWS, Azure, Django.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MIROS optimisation software.
• Ensure code is efficient, well-documented, and maintainable.
• Plan and implement new features and enhancements to the codebase.
• Test, debug, and resolve any issues within the system.
• Lead the design and architecture of new systems.
• Ensure codebase is scalable, sustainable, and productionised efficiently.
