A healthcare provider in Greater Manchester is seeking two enthusiastic clinicians to join the Trusted Relationships Service. This role focuses on consultation and staff support without direct patient contact, requiring two days a week at a Police station. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and complete Police vetting. Exceptional opportunities for training and professional development are available in a supportive environment.
The Trusted Relationships Service has grown from strength to strength since the original Home Office funding in 2018. We have secured 3 more years of funding and we are looking for two enthusiastic, independent clinicians to join our team alongside 8 existing clinicians for 2 days a week.
This is a non-case holding post; clinicians do not have any direct patient contact. You will work with Police and Social care staff to support their work safeguarding children who are at risk of extrafamilial abuse and exploitation. Based within the Complex Safeguarding teams across Greater Manchester, clinicians facilitate psychological awareness, particularly in relation to trauma, by offering case-based consultation, staff support and bespoke training. The Trusted Relationships Service is a team within the GM Resilience Hub, providing access to a range of expertise and CPD opportunities.
Please note that being based in a Police station is a requirement of the post and Police vetting is required.
All Trusted Relationships clinicians work part-time within Complex Safeguarding teams and spend two days a week based at the Police station with the CS team. The work relies on relationships with Police; completing Police vetting is necessary to gain access to the Police station. The majority input is consultation about children and families, with some attendance at other relevant meetings. Bespoke training may be requested from time to time.
The role requires a degree of autonomy and personal organisation. Given the complex nature of the work and exposure to traumatic material, there are opportunities for support and CPD. The team has regular face-to-face and online team meetings, individual supervision and line management, a buddy-system, monthly Compassion-Focused Staff Support and CAT-informed supervision. There is protected time every Thursday afternoon for team meetings and external supervision and staff support, with additional ad-hoc support available throughout the week.
The majority of input tends to be consultation about children and families, with some attendance at other meetings. Regular staff support may be offered as a group or one-to-one; bespoke training may be requested from time to time. All consultations are written up and activity is recorded for the clinical lead to use in reports and service evaluation.
Advert closes on Sunday 14 Sep 2025.
