Senior Cloud Security Engineer - REMOTE - £120k

My client is transforming the future of financial infrastructure through advanced, modern technology. They are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer who's passionate about designing, implementing, and operating security controls across resilient, highly available multi‑cloud platforms.

If you're experienced in Linux, cloud security, software engineering, and Kubernetes security—and you're eager to influence the next generation of platform security—this role is for you.

What You'll Do
  • Build, maintain, and evolve robust security controls across complex multi‑cloud environments.
  • Partner with development teams to provide expert guidance on secure architecture, design principles, risk assessments, and long‑term security strategy.
  • Proactively monitor emerging cyber threats and help shape defence measures.
  • Contribute to incident response efforts and support critical security operations as a secondary responder.
What You Bring
  • Strong command‑line expertise and deep knowledge of Linux systems.
  • Clear, well‑reasoned perspectives on security approaches and trade‑offs, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Practical experience securing Kubernetes—ideally across large, custom, multi‑cluster environments.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including its security ecosystem and hardening practices.
  • Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals and experience building reliable, scalable systems.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation to support security tooling and assist with incident response.
Nice to Have
  • Background in ethical hacking, red teaming, or CTF experience.
  • Previous work securing multi‑cloud environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for promoting security best practices.
  • Experience with structured threat modelling.
  • Familiarity with data centre and network security.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software supply chain risks.
Tech Stack
  • Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure, private data centres
  • Orchestration: Kubernetes, Helm, Flux
  • Languages/Platforms: Golang, CockroachDB, NATS
  • Security Tools: SIEM/SOAR, EDR, CNAPP + open‑source tooling
