A local government organization is seeking a motivated Senior Accommodation Worker to oversee a 15-room Supported Accommodation house. You will lead a team of Support Workers to provide high-quality support for individuals transitioning from rough sleeping. The role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage challenging situations. Candidates should have experience working with vulnerable individuals and a commitment to enhancing their long-term housing outcomes.
The Senior Accommodation Worker (RSOT) will lead the day‑to‑day operation of a new 15‑room Supported Accommodation house, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred support for individuals transitioning away from rough sleeping. The post holder will manage and support a team of four Support Workers, providing guidance, supervision, and direction to ensure consistent and effective practice. The role involves working closely with residents to stabilise their accommodation, develop independent living skills, and access the services they need to sustain long‑term housing. You will also support the development of improved pathways into accommodation, strengthen partnership working with internal and external agencies, and ensure accurate monitoring of outcomes and progress. This is a frontline leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, sound professional judgement, and a commitment to improving outcomes for people experiencing homelessness. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
We are seeking a motivated and resilient individual with experience of working with rough sleepers or people with multiple and complex needs. You will bring a calm, professional approach and the ability to build constructive relationships with individuals who may have experienced trauma, instability, or repeated homelessness. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to support and guide a small team, and confidence in managing challenging situations. You will be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners, and capable of developing creative solutions to help individuals move towards sustained accommodation.
