Job summary

A leading contracting firm in the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and subcontract procurement for projects focused on sustainable heating solutions. This remote role requires travel to sites 1-2 times a month. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of civil engineering and experience in budget control, offering a competitive rate of £450 per day outside IR35.

Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor
Rate: 450 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Remote (travel to sites 1-2x a month)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy and growing main contractor that provides sustainable heating and cooling through district heating schemes to clients across the UK. The role is offered on a remote basis, outside IR35 and for an initial period of around 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Cost management & budget control
• Subcontract procurement and management including leading the procurement process for subcontractors, assessing applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations to the client
• Secure timely and accurate payments, managing cash flow on each project
• Identify, assess and manage variations and changes
• Administer the main contract ensuring compliance with terms (JCT/NEC)

Requirements / Qualifications

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need an understanding of civil engineering, or specifically, district heating works and be happy to travel to sites across the UK 1-2 times a month (all expenses paid).
