Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: Up to £65,000
Start Date: March 2026

Role Overview

An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects ranging from £200k to £10m+. The role works closely with project and senior management teams to control costs, manage risk and maximise commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost control, forecasting and monthly CVR reporting
  • Cashflow and value reporting
  • Subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial management
  • Applications for payment through to final account
  • Commercial and contractual liaison with clients and stakeholders
  • Identify and realise commercial opportunities
  • Manage and mitigate commercial risk
Contracts & Processes
  • Manage NEC and IChemE contracts
  • Ensure correct contract terms across the supply chain
  • Support internal commercial processes and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
Essential
  • Construction or civil engineering background
  • Strong NEC / IChemE contract knowledge
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
  • Monthly forecasting and cost analysis experience
  • Strong communication, numeracy and IT skills
Desirable
  • RICS membership or working towards
  • CSCS card
  • Quantity Surveying qualification (HND/Degree or equivalent)
  • Estimating experience
  • Direct delivery contractor experience
