Contract Scotland are working with a well-established main contractor as they look to strengthen their commercial team in the North of Scotland with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.

A reputable name across Scotland, this company is known for delivering high-quality projects within a range of sectors including social housing, commercial, leisure, education, and public‑sector works. They have secured a strong pipeline of work for 2026, from Elgin to Dundee, and so we're keen to hear from people all across the Northern region.

With a supportive culture that values autonomy and trust, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who wants to run their own project from the very beginning.

Key responsibilities:
  • Taking full commercial lead on your assigned project.
  • Managing cost control, procurement, valuations and reporting.
  • Working closely with the site team to ensure financial performance and contractual compliance.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, supply chain and internal colleagues.
  • Overseeing variations, forecasting and final accounts.
  • Ensuring commercial governance is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Project QS or Senior QS within main contracting.
  • Ability to operate as commercial lead on a project.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management and procurement.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work autonomously.
  • A proactive, organised approach and strong attention to detail.
