Overview

Senior Quality Assurance Manager • Permanent • Reading (Hybrid)

At MBNL, our mission is clear: Managing the Mobile Infrastructure to Enable Digital Britain. As the UK’s largest network-sharing joint venture, we are at the forefront of industry transformation, delivering innovative solutions that shape the future of connectivity.

We’re looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Manager to take strategic and operational ownership of MBNL’s integrated Quality Assurance activity. This is a pivotal role, embedding a culture of quality, operational assurance, and continuous improvement across all levels of the business and its ecosystem.

You will be accountable for the implementation, governance, and ongoing improvement of MBNL’s Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, driving supplier assurance, and overseeing internal and external audit programmes. With independence, rigour, and transparency, you’ll set the bar for how MBNL manages quality, risk, and compliance.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week based in our Central Reading office.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and deliver MBNL’s Management System implementation strategy, aligned with our Transformation Plan.
  • Implement and manage an integrated Health, Safety, Quality and Document Management System in line with ISO45001:2018, ISO9001:2015 and potentially ISO14001:2018.
  • Lead the creation of standards, processes, and documentation that align with MBNL’s Assurance Model.
  • Oversee internal and external audit programmes, ensuring the right auditors are in place and supplier assurance is robust.
  • Lead the delivery of a Quality Maturity Model strategy to support continuous improvement.
  • Manage supplier audit programmes, including direct auditing of key contractors and partners.
  • Own the management and operation of MBNL’s Customer Portal and establish effective communications forums.
  • Develop processes for non-conformance, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
  • Implement measurement activities, reporting mechanisms, and management reviews to ensure effectiveness and accountability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external certification bodies, overseeing third-party audits.
  • Inspire, coach, and challenge leaders across MBNL to embody the MBNL Way and build a culture of learning and improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to drive change and influence at senior levels.
  • Extensive experience in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 19011) and certified Lead Auditor status.
  • A track record of developing and implementing integrated management systems in large organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience in managing supplier assurance and contractor operations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Commercially aware, with a business-focused mindset and continuous improvement approach.

Nice To Have

  • Telecoms experience
  • HSEQ higher level qualifications e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Knowledge of other management system standards (for example ISO27001, ISO22301)
  • An understanding of the wider role of MBNL and an appreciation of how teams interact and their role
