At ClearRoute we work in a hybrid, flexible way, with two days a week onsite in our office in Farringdon where this role will be based from. Unfortunately we cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Role

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong experience building and deploying scalable systems. The ideal candidate will have deep hands‑on expertise in Python backend frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask, and a proven track record of designing high‑performance APIs and data‑intensive services.

You will have the opportunity to work on backend platforms that integrate AI‑driven components, including Agentic AI systems, LLM integrations, and Azure automation services. This role focuses on building robust, scalable backend architectures that support large volumes of data, real‑time processing, and intelligent workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop core AI primitives using state‑of‑the‑art LLM technologies
• Build full‑stack components for the Automated Code Modernisation agent
• Create data pipelines to support AI model training, fine‑tuning and evaluation
• Implement context‑aware generation capabilities with organisational guardrails
• Contribute to the value measurement framework for AI adoption

Required Skills & Experience:

• Expert knowledge of generative AI, LLM architectures and prompt engineering
• Strong Python development skills with experience in AI/ML frameworks
• Data engineering experience, particularly with unstructured and code‑related data
• Full‑stack development capabilities across frontend and backend systems
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG)
• Knowledge of AI evaluation metrics and performance optimisation
