Job summary

A leading health organization in Birmingham is looking for a Senior Psychologist to join their Inpatient Services team. The position is a full-time, permanent role focused on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. Candidates should be HCPC registered and have experience in community or inpatient settings. This position offers a supportive multi-disciplinary environment and the opportunity for developmental growth from Band 7 to Band 8a.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a HCPC registered practitioner psychologist to join the team working within the specialist assessment and treatment services for adults and adolescents at Brooklands. The post is advertised at band 8a, but we are able to accept applications from newly qualifying / soon to qualify psychologists seeking a band 7‑8a development post.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical input in the form of assessments, individual and group therapies, team formulation, reflective practice and support other staff to undertake psychological interventions.
  • Provide training and supervision to others and contribute to and lead on service development projects, including audit and research.
  • Work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams, provide psychological input and engage in service development, training and group work.
  • Use the whole range of psychological skills and experience to support service aims and address client needs.
Qualifications & Experience
  • HCPC registered psychologist.
  • Experience working with adults and/or young people with intellectual disabilities in community or inpatient settings, or experience in other settings with an interest in this client group.
  • Commitment to the intellectual disability client group and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary environment.

The SATS & CAMHS Psychological Services team are part of a wider Psychological Services team at Brooklands and provide support for training, supervision, placements, research and teaching.
