Job summary

A leading Energy and Renewables recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Project Planner for an immediate start PAYE (Inside IR35) contract role in Reading, UK. The successful candidate will manage enterprise planning for major projects, requiring over 3 years of experience in the renewable sector and strong knowledge of Primavera P6. This position will initially run for 6 months with potential for extension or permanency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Planner in the renewables and/or energy sector.
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of Primavera P6 project portfolio management software.
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Programme schedules ensuring clear, timely information.
  • Develop project programme reporting outputs in line with management requirements.
  • Lead Schedule Risk Analysis and scenario planning.
  • Raise awareness of project schedules among key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvements in Planning operations.

Job description
Senior Project Planner - £4400-£460 per day PAYE (Inside IR35) - 6-12 month contract

Our client, a leading Energy and Renewables company, are currently hiring for a number of Project Planners to lead enterprise planning for a sector or portfolio of major projects.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and supporting the development of Programme schedules ensuring clear, timely and accurate information is provided to Project Management, the Project Board and key stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and develop project programme reporting outputs in line with project and portfolio management requirements. Ensure the accuracy of all programme reporting.
  • Take a leading role in Schedule Risk Analysis, both through What-if scenario planning, and through use of quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis tools.
  • Raise the profile of the project programme among the project team, ensuring key stakeholders are appraised of current programme position and the key interfaces and impacts related to their scopes. Ensure that the project critical path and near critical path activities are widely understood and that the team understand the commercial impacts of changes to schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvements in ways of working for the Planning function, both within the project and within the wider Enterprise business.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Planner in the renewables and / or energy sector.
  • Strong experience and working knowledge of Primavera P6 project portfolio management software.
  • People management / team leadership experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills

This is an immediate start PAYE (Inside IR35) contract role that will run for an initial 6 month period with a view to extending and / or becoming permanent.
