Job description

Senior Planner

The role

Ferrovial Construction is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to support major infrastructure projects in the UK.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and update the monthly Reporting Baseline (RB) for a portfolio of projects, following instructions from PMIs and implemented CEs.
  • Develop and maintain the monthly Progress Programme, including narrative, project performance analysis, critical path, and programme integration activities according to contract requirements across scope, time, risk, schedule updates, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate all external parties involved in the progress process (commercials, planners, section leads, site agents) to ensure a realistic programme logic.
  • Act as an Expert Planner and scheduler.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 professionally and be familiar with cost loading programmes.
  • Manage and ensure the application of earned value management.
  • Promote company values in dealings with employees, clients, subcontractors, and external contacts.

Skills and Competence:

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Previous experience as a planner on large-scale projects.
  • Experience with planning management systems in civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and CEMAR (Contract/Change management).
  • Understanding of NEC3 contracts.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
  • Ability to perform assignments independently with supervision and guidance.
  • Capability to deliver timely, high-quality reports.
  • Proactive with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Good relationship skills across departments and functions.
  • Knowledge of measuring civil engineering works.
