Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager will report to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK and will be responsible for delivering projects with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands, with opportunities to work in the North West of England, primarily in consultancy roles. The role offers potential progression across the UK Water, Environment, Rail, or Nuclear sectors.

Key responsibilities include managing pre- and post-contract activities using NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC forms, procurement, and leveraging experience to improve project efficiencies and supply chain engagement. The role requires experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in major capital projects.

The position is office-based (4 days in Tamworth, 1 day remote) and supports personal growth through training and career development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage NEC3/4 contracts and administration, including budget control and payment certifications.
  • Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on financial aspects.
  • Maintain project and commercial records, handle contractual communications, and manage risks.
  • Conduct initial project planning, tender evaluations, and risk mitigation during pre-contract phases.
  • Oversee contract administration, monitor expenditures, evaluate change orders, and resolve disputes in post-contract phases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant numeric field.
  • Full membership of a chartered body like APM at MAPM.
  • Extensive postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water, or Environment sectors.
  • Experience in line management, recruitment, CDM regulations, risk management, and NEC contracts.
  • Valid CSCS and Water Hygiene cards preferred.
  • Experience with main contractors or joint ventures, and the right to work in the UK.
