Overview

Do you have 8–10 years’ experience in mechanical building services design, ideally across defence or complex commercial projects?

Have you successfully led multi-disciplinary engineering project teams, managing budgets, resources, and client relationships?

The Opportunity

Our client, a London-based engineering team are expanding their team to meet growing demand across UK defence projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global consultancy that prides itself on delivering excellent work, where every project matters.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of mechanical building services designs from concept to construction.
  • Act as Project Leader on medium-to-large projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics, and more).
  • Review contractor submissions and oversee construction administration.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, developing team capability.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A recognised mechanical engineering qualification
  • 8–10 years’ engineering experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Proven project leadership/project management experience with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Knowledge of RIBA Stages 1–4A.
Desirable
  • Experience with defence sector or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with other disciplines (electrical, public health, fire protection).
  • Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
