The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in rail project planning, proficiency in Primavera P6, and strong communication skills. This role offers a salary range of £60,000 to £70,000 and the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.

Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 plus car allowance

Location: Cardiff, 3 days in office per week, remainder from home.

I am seeking an experienced Senior / Programme Planner (Scheduler) to support the development and delivery of five new stations along the South Wales Mainline. This will be working through an infrastructure consultancy with the TfW team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a major rail investment programme, playing a key role in ensuring effective planning, scheduling, and programme controls.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Programme Planner / Scheduler within the rail or wider infrastructure sector (5 years minimum)
  • Strong understanding of planning tools and methodologies (Primavera P6 or similar)
  • Knowledge of railway investment lifecycle processes (SOBC to FBC)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project schedules for multiple station schemes
  • Support programme development from SOBC to FBC in line with rail industry practices
  • Provide planning expertise to project teams, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved
  • Monitor progress and highlight risks or issues that may impact delivery
