Senior Production Engineer

On-site | Ulverston

Permanent | Full-Time

We're seeking a Senior Production Engineer to lead new product introduction (NPI) and drive continuous improvement across our operations. You'll be key in bringing new designs into production, optimising manufacturing processes, and supporting Engineering and Operations teams to deliver high-quality, reliable products efficiently.

What You'll Do
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) into the operations environment.
  • Produce CAD drawings, SOPs, and assembly/test specifications for new products.
  • Provide technical support to resolve production issues, improve reliability, and reduce costs.
  • Design, develop, and document tooling, fixtures, and test jigs to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Review and update BOMs, routings, and process documentation in the ERP system.
  • Use statistical analysis and KPIs to identify process weaknesses, implement corrective actions, and measure improvements.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001 standards.
What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong background in production engineering and 3D CAD (component-level design experience essential).
  • Experience in design and manufacturing environments, ideally within electronics or precision engineering (SME experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma (certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with IFS ERP and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
