A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is seeking a Senior / Principal Urban Drainage Modeller for their Exeter office. You will provide technical leadership for wastewater modelling projects, develop solutions for various drainage issues, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering and significant experience in urban drainage projects, particularly with InfoWorks ICM, demonstrating strong collaborative and leadership skills. Stantec is excited to have been appointed to a number of AMP 8 major water frameworks across the UK & Ireland, affording our Urban Drainage Modelling teams the opportunity to support a wide range of projects. Locally, Stantec will be supporting Welsh Water & South West Water, while a number of appointments in the North of England, including the United Utilities specialist modelling framework, will provide an exciting portfolio for our Network Modelling teams.
We are looking for a Senior / Principal Urban Drainage Modeller to join us in Cardiff, Bristol or Exeter. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of 175 personnel from Stantec across the UK and Pune, along with clients and consultant/contractor partners, collaborating to deliver projects. Our work is centred around a thorough knowledge of urban drainage and its role within the wider water cycle and urban landscape, while placing environmental commitments, sustainability and our communities at the heart of what we do.
Your role involves delivering technical leadership for wastewater modelling projects and developing solutions across Stormwater Overflows, Water Quality Management, Developer Assessments, Flood Investigations and more. You will work with specialist teams to develop new tools and procedures within Wastewater Modelling and support and manage more junior modellers within the team.
To be considered for this opportunity you will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or another relevant subject, and be a member of an industry relevant institution such as ICE or CIWEM. You will have prior experience working on urban drainage projects and demonstrate strong technical proficiency across a wide range of urban drainage modelling activities, including a full working knowledge of InfoWorks ICM.
Experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring of junior staff is important, along with the ability to work closely with external stakeholders. Most importantly, you will embody our values and ethos of client focus and service excellence.
