Overview

RC Fornax, a veteran owned engineering consultancy operating within the aerospace and defence sectors, is looking for a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer to support hardware-focused projects within a major defence programme. You'll deliver systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, from requirements decomposition through to V&V, ensuring technical compliance and high-quality design outputs.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities including requirements decomposition, design, and verification & validation (V&V).
• Contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, with focus on hardware engineering and hardware design.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and ensure outputs meet programme standards.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and support design decisions.

What We\'re Looking For

• Strong systems engineering background with focus on requirements, design, and V&V.
• Experience supporting submarine platforms or major naval defence programmes
• Proven capability in hardware engineering and hardware design.
• Defence or regulated industry background essential.

Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate must hold active Security Check (SC) Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance at the point of onboarding.
