Overview

Role: Senior Pharmacy Technician (Procurement)

Site: The Portland Hospital, London

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with contribution to late duty (5pm-6pm) and Saturdays on a rota basis.

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience (with excellent benefits)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician with prior procurement experience to join our pharmacy team at the Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.

This is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare needs of women, children and their families. Our experienced team of over 600 consultants are supported by the latest in diagnostic technology including MRI, CT and interventional radiology scanners. The services include Maternity, Children's Health, Neonatal Medicine, Women's Health and Fertility Clinics.

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician working within procurement, you will provide high quality, patient-focused pharmacy services which consistently meet the needs of all service users. You will be responsible for purchasing all pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceutical stock using both automated and manual systems, as well as managing all procurement-related tasks. In addition, you will oversee stock control and maintenance, contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the dispensary, and deputise for the Lead Pharmacy Technician in their absence.

You will also be involved in continuous service and professional development, audit and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and act as a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs). Furthermore, you will provide training, education, and mentorship to specialist and junior technicians as well as assistants.
