Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Isleworth is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant (Dispensary). The successful candidate will manage stock control, dispense medications, and train staff. Candidates should have an NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills, previous hospital pharmacy experience, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Overview

Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust (West Middlesex Site). Senior Pharmacy Assistant (Dispensary) – Band 3 at West Middlesex University Hospital. West Middlesex Site is part of Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The closing date is 13 February 2026.

The post holder will join the Pharmacy Department and work within the Dispensary. The successful candidate will be based in the Dispensary and may be required to work weekends and bank holidays. Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy is essential.

Job responsibilities

STOCK & INVENTORY

  • Stock control management including putting stock away received from stores, rotating stock/checking expiries where relevant and performing stock control counts.
  • Ensure dispensary areas are sufficiently stocked with all sundries (leaflets, cards, bottles, bags).
  • Sort, count, compile and, where relevant, dispose of unsuitable medication returns.
  • Carry out daily monitoring of fridge and dispensary temperatures.
  • To release and order stock from Stores.
  • To be a ROWA Super user and provide training where required.
  • To monitor all to follows drugs.
  • General housekeeping of ROWA.
  • Adjust stock/expired stock investigations.
Education, Qualification & Experience
  • English, Maths and Science GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent.
  • NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent (including Dispensing units) or willing to work towards.
  • Previous experience of working in hospital Pharmacy.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Pharmacy labelling and stock control systems.
  • Experience of using JAC.
