An exciting opportunity for a nurse leader with experience in patient flow, to support delivery of safe, effective and timely care across the Princess of Wales hospital site and as part of the wider Cwm Taf Morgannwyg University Health Board team.

This role requires a strong role model for professional leadership with an open-minded, can do attitude to improving patient flow through a whole system approach. A highly effective communicator and team player will support the wider team to promote a safe and positive patient experience.

Job responsibilities
  • The Senior Nurse for Patient Flow will be responsible for the safe and effective use of staff resources on a day-to-day basis in accordance with need and appropriate skill level within the designated teams. Timely, safe and effective transfer of care/discharge.
  • Ensure positive patient experience, reduction in harm, waste and variation. This includes leading digital transformation and support nursing workforce to confidently work with innovative technologies.
  • They will support a culture that fosters empowerment, collaborative learning and continuous professional development.
  • The Senior Nurse will actively support the organisation's ability to respond to change and continuously improve by fostering a transformative approach to leadership style and management.
  • Essentially, the Senior Nurse will support the delivery of safe and effective patient flow within available resources.
  • Available for calls and informal visits.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience to its equivalency
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies
Experience
  • Experience at a senior level
  • Demonstration of ability to manage complex situations
  • Substantial post registration experience including clinical leadership, team management
  • Previous experience of working within a patient flow team
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with health professionals within the UHB and with external organisations
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
