Role Purpose:

The Senior Network Development Engineer (SNDE) is responsible for the design, deployment, and support of network fabric and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of networking protocols and programming skills to support automation in a production environment. The engineer is accountable for network solutions, detailed designs, and deployment in both Data Center and Cloud Networks, including capacity and performance management.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Private and Public Cloud service providers to forecast and right-size capacity and performance requirements, with regular iterations.
  • Assess the impact of user and technical stories on existing architecture, work processes, and systems; design and implement supporting database and middleware capabilities for software development and operations.
  • Design and implement supporting platform/infrastructure/network and tooling for software development, orchestration, and operations.
  • Monitor and maintain platform/infrastructure/network performance, capacity, and availability. Define product vision, strategy, roadmap, and growth opportunities based on stakeholder and market needs.
  • Work with the Lead Product Owner to define and prioritize user stories aligned with the capability roadmap, providing a systems perspective.
  • Evaluate value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to focus on high-value work.

Who you are

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree or technical institute certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and/or administering Network infrastructure solutions at an expert certification level.
  • Experience with current and emerging virtualization, infrastructure, and cloud network technologies such as SDN ACI, SD WAN, NSX, and cloud platforms like AWS, OCI, Azure, Google.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum, XP, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery/Integration.
  • Network management and design experience in large-scale Data Center and Cloud environments, including Cisco ACI and SDN technologies.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, SSL; experience with network automation tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
  • Experience with cloud IaaS and PaaS models (Openstack, AWS, Azure) and proficiency in at least two programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, PHP, Ruby). Understanding of software development processes and architecture.
