A leading broadcasting company in West London is seeking a Senior TV Media Planner. In this hybrid role, you will create and manage media plans for TV Channel brands both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in media planning and stakeholder management, along with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a fixed-term contract for 8 months, covering maternity leave.

Senior TV Media Planner - West London - Hybrid working (2 days in the office)

Fixed Term Contract - 8mths - to cover end of a maternity cover contract.

Our client, is an award winning UK & International Multi-Channel Broadcaster and we are urgently looking for an experienced Media Planner to join their team ASAP.

To be considered: You must have direct experience of working within a Media Planning role specifically for TV Channels. - this can be client or agency side.

Strong experience of working with Techedge or other Audience Ratings tools , Data Analysis and understanding of TVR's is a must.

Experience of managing key stakeholder relationships

Be able to mentor and advise the more junior members of the team.

About the job

The Senior Media Planner is responsible for creating and delivering priority promo plans for their TV Channel brands both in the UK and Internationally, ensuring our promo airtime is being used effectively as well as owning our collaborative relationship with our Media Planning partners at Sky.

Media Planning sits within the Marketing & Communications department, and focuses on strategically communicating with our audience to ensure they find the content they love; creating awareness of the latest TV programmes or products we are launching across multiple brands and territories.

Key responsibilities
  • Create strategic owned media plans across TV & BVOD channels for Sky History other priority brands, based on media planning expertise and historical data. Translate broader business objectives into effective campaign solutions
  • Oversee the use of promo airtime across our international territories, with a particular focus on Netherlands & Sweden. Ensuring this is utilised to maximum efficiency and effectiveness and aligns to regional business requirements
  • Commission relevant assets and manage campaigns on ongoing basis once planned, reacting to schedule amendments or any impacting influence.
  • Work closely with the Head of Media Planning on our integrated plans, collaborating with different media teams such as Social, PR and our paid media agency to ensure we are as effective as possible with omnichannel plans.
  • Produce PCA’s and reports which evaluate campaign performance against objectives and ensuring learnings are adopted for the future, present these learnings back to the business when relevant
  • Collaborate with our external Media Planning partners at Sky, maintaining a positive & working relationship, briefing them on our latest priorities and managing cross-promotion campaigns
  • Represent the Media Planning team in relevant business meetings, actively participating to share campaign information and offering media planning expertise & guidance
  • As a Senior within the team, lead by example, ensuring a high standard of work is produced and providing guidance to junior team members. This role involves active engagement in the development of the wider team
  • Initiate ideas for campaign analysis and testing – take learnings to push media planning into new avenues

Essential Skills / Knowledge
  • Extensive experience planning TV media campaigns, in either an agency or broadcaster environment
  • Thorough understanding of promotional strategies across linear broadcast channels, and the how these should be adapted to deliver against business & marketing objectives
  • Media Planning experience across international territories
  • Experience using TechEdge, or similar BARB measurement tool
  • Skilled in developing junior team members
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentational) – the ability to explain and present complex information in simple terms
  • Keen attention to detail & highly organised
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with capacity to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously
  • Pro-active and self-motivated with a great team-spirit
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with positive approach to learning new software
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience planning & managing BVOD promo airtime
  • Experience working in an omni-channel campaign planning role, in either a media agency or broadcaster environment

Understanding and experience of working with AdSmart / PromoSmart technology
