Senior Mechanical Engineer
A leading product development consultancy is experiencing significant growth and is looking for talented Senior Mechanical Engineers to join its expanding multidisciplinary team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the technical development of innovative products across a wide range of sectors including consumer, transport, healthcare, and industrial.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical development on projects and contribute to strategic design direction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Oversee and support junior engineers, ensuring high standards of work.
- Manage project deliverables including planning, budgets, and client communication.
- Present ideas and progress to clients in a clear and compelling way.
- Apply creative problem-solving and engineering rigour to develop innovative, manufacturable products.
Requirements
- A degree (2:1 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline from a reputable institution.
- Proven experience in product development, ideally within a consultancy or fast-paced R&D environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including injection moulding and rapid prototyping.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD and CAE software.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects and maintain strong client relationships.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to work on-site as required.
Desirable Skills
- Experience developing products in regulated environments such as medical or automotive.
- Ability to create mathematical models or simulations to support design decisions.
- Understanding of DFM, sustainability, and cost optimisation principles.
