Location : Buckinghamshire

Salary : £60,000 - £70,000

About The Role :

Platform Recruitment is partnering with a leading company specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of scientific electro-mechanical instruments. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in product development, precision mechanism design, and 3D CAD.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop conceptual designs for next‑generation products
• Apply blue sky thinking to drive innovation
• 3D CAD Design
• Prototype and test designs for performance validation
• Design precision mechanisms for electro‑mechanical systems
• Oversee product development from concept to manufacturing
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Key Requirements :

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Product Design, or related field) or equivalent experience
• Strong expertise in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
• Creativity and a passion for innovation & blue sky thinking
• Proven experience in precision mechanism design
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including injection moulding
• Hands‑on experience with prototyping and testing
• Experience in electro‑mechanical product design (highly desirable)
