Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Pulborough

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a UK-known manufacturer in Pulborough. With no day ever being the same, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be at the heart of innovative projects. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

1. Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
2. Managing a small team of Designers
3. Performing mechanical design calculations and analyses using FEA tools
4. Reviewing drawings and design results
5. Analyzing component data and assessing suitability for DFM
6. Being involved in recruitment and expanding the team
7. Seeing design projects through from concept to completion
8. Producing 3D designs using SolidWorks
9. Generating BOMs to accompany designs
10. Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required

You will work closely with project engineers, physicists, and production staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Degree (BSc / BEng) in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software – ideally SolidWorks, but other programs may be considered
• Minimum of 3 years industry experience working on designs for manufacture
• Experience supervising and leading teams is preferred
• Ability to perform mechanical calculations
• Strong individual and team working skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
