Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team in Belfast on a 12 month fixed term basis. As part of our Marketing department, you'll help drive client relationships - one of A&O Shearman's core values - and support strategic growth initiatives.

In this role, you'll work closely with BD Managers and collaborate across teams including Finance, IT, and HR to deliver impactful business development and marketing projects.

What you will do

The role will require someone who is highly organized, efficient and who is committed to delivering high-quality work.

  • Lead event coordination - Plan and deliver virtual and in-person events, manage logistics, and support client hospitality and conferences.
  • Manage legal directory submissions - Work with associates, partners, and researchers to secure top rankings.
  • Create client materials - Develop brochures, inserts, and contact cards with Creative Services.
  • Produce tailored content - Compile CVs, credentials, and proposals for client pitches.
  • Maintain BD systems - Track proposals, pricing, client feedback, and keep data up to date.
  • Update digital platforms - Refresh website and intranet content as needed.
  • Spot market trends - Use data to identify opportunities and handle ad-hoc research requests.
  • Prepare financial reports - Provide insights on client performance.
  • Coordinate mailings - Manage Vuture campaigns for the group.
  • Support profile-raising - Assist with internal and external communications and content initiatives.
What you will have
  • Exceptional customer service skills gained in a service orientated commercial environment.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable working with data, including data entry, management, and basic analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience within a marketing or business development support role is desirable.
