Overview

Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack - Capital One Software (Remote)

Capital One Software builds cloud and data management tools to enable scalable operations in the cloud and to bring B2B software solutions to market. The team focuses on data publishing, data consumption, data governance, and infrastructure management, helping businesses address these needs at scale.

You will join a team of product, tech, and design leaders who challenge the status quo and build tools to support this business. As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack, you’ll help bring these tools to market.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Share passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other engineers, and from time to time, code or evaluate code.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive experiences for millions of Americans toward financial empowerment.
• Utilize programming languages and technologies including JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go; Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes; and AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• At least 4 years of people management experience

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, Node.js or React
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
• 1+ years of experience leading teams developing ML solutions using industry best practices, patterns, and automation
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
• 7+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The salary information shown is a minimum and maximum full-time annual salary for this role by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Remote (Regardless of Location): $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering; Richmond, VA: $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering. Other locations follow the local pay range and the actual offer will be reflected in the offer letter.

This role is eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives can be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
