Those in corporate finance at PwC will provide strategic financial advice and solutions to help clients navigate complex business transactions and optimise their capital structure. You will analyse financial data, conduct due diligence, and assist in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

About the Team

The Energy Infrastructure Resources & Utilities (EURI) Corporate Finance Team provides lead advisory services to financial investors, corporates, developers and government both in the UK and internationally.

Our services include advising on sell‑side and buy‑side M&A transactions on equity and debt raises as well as providing wider financing and strategic options advice.

We have seen significant growth in client demand for these services and are looking to grow the team as a result. As a Senior Manager you’ll be taking day‑to‑day ownership of transactions, leading deal teams which typically comprise 3‑5 people. With the support of Partners and Directors you’ll be taking ownership of the entire deal process from shaping the strategy, interfacing with senior client stakeholders, producing deliverables, negotiating with prospective counterparties and reviewing transactional documentation.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the infrastructure and energy industry, thrives in dynamic environments, has curiosity and commercial drive with an interest in supporting business development, is open to exploring and implementing new ways of working, enjoys problem solving and is motivated by making a tangible impact for clients and their wider stakeholders.

As a Senior Manager within the team the individual would be expected to lead the following types of work:

  • Lead transactions on a day‑to‑day basis through coordinating the work of junior staff and interacting with clients and prospective counterparties.
  • Input towards and review client deliverables such as the preparation of pitch documents, client marketing materials, analysis of financial information and process update documents.
  • Contribute to winning new work by supporting senior team members to identify and navigate new opportunities, deliver client pitches and proactively follow up on leads.
  • Work closely with other advisors (such as lawyers, due diligence providers, etc.) to review deal documents including providing commercial input on transaction terms.
  • Provide commercial advice to our clients and assist them in negotiating transactions, often in time‑sensitive and value‑critical circumstances.
  • Guide, supervise and develop junior team members, providing in‑the‑moment coaching and training to supplement their formal development.
Required skills and experience
  • Significant prior deals experience in M&A and/or greenfield finance or related areas (e.g. valuation and restructuring).
  • Proven experience in project management of deals with a track record of coaching and developing junior colleagues.
  • Substantial prior experience in the infrastructure and/or energy industry.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including with senior audiences.
  • Ability to lead teams that can work independently while balancing multiple priorities and delivering consistently high‑quality outputs.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings from prior analysis in a clear, succinct and persuasive manner.
  • Commercial awareness to understand client requirements, assess key deal parameters and articulate them in actionable form to relevant stakeholders and manage transaction and engagement risks.
