Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join an ambitious and growing Accountancy Practice on the outskirts of London. The firm currently sit in the Top 100 however have aggressive growth plans to make it into the Top 10 through acquisitions.

Due to the growth, they are looking to recruit a Senior Manager to become part of this journey. Reporting to one of the Partners, you will be in charge of your own portfolio of clients with the support of a team you will manage.

Duties include
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, delivering end-to-end accounting and compliance services including bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, year-end accounts, and tax returns.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice and actionable insight.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax standards (FRS 105 / FRS 102), with accuracy and timeliness as a given.
  • Review and interpret financial data to support clients’ strategic and operational decisions.
  • Monitor portfolio budgets and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Drive team productivity and utilisation, managing workflow and resources effectively.
  • Support partners with portfolio reporting, forecasting, and fee analysis.
  • Champion automation across all service lines, leveraging tools such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Dext, Apron, ApprovalMax, Fathom, and Chaser.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual input, and enhance real-time visibility for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine standardised processes for scalable, tech-led delivery.

  • You will help design, test, and refine scalable processes for reporting, forecasting, and performance management. I
  • Identify client opportunities where the Virtual Finance Function can deliver value beyond compliance — including board reporting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and strategic financial insights.
  • Helpshape the commercial model, and working directly with leadership to bring the service to market.
  • Be excited by innovation, automation, and the chance to create something new within a high performing practice environment.
Suitable candidates will have the following skills / experience :
  • ACA / ACCA qualified with 3-5 years’ PQE in UK practice
  • Experience managing WIP, billing, productivity, and portfolio budgets.
  • Confident communicator with client advisory experience.
  • Experience in outsourced finance or Virtual Finance Function services.
  • Familiarity with practice management systems (Karbon, AccountancyManager, Senta, etc.).
  • Understanding of automation tools (Zapier, Make, API integrations).
  • Exposure to financial analysis tools such as Fathom, Syft, or Power BI.

The firm are offering a salary range between £60k - £80k depending on experience. Benefits include an employee share scheme, 25 days holiday and working from home model.
