A healthcare organization in Plymouth is seeking a Senior Logistics Assistant to support the Clinical Engineering Department. The successful candidate will work on stock management, order placement, and logistics support, requiring strong IT proficiency and excellent communication skills. Applicants must have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months.
Applications are invited for a Senior Logistics Assistant to work in Clinical Engineering in Derriford Hospital.
The successful applicant will work to support the Logistics and Stock Manager and the Clinical Engineering Department.
Applicants should have obtained 5 GCSE passes including Maths and English A-C (4-9). They will require advanced IT skills, including Office suite, email, internet, specialist software systems and able to manage, manipulate and report information.
Clinical Engineering is part of Healthcare Science and Technology based at Derriford Hospital. The Department employs 26 Technologists, 5 Administration Staff, 7 Support Workers and several Apprentices providing a management service for Medical Devices in University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, the Plymouth and Cornwall Community Healthcare organisations and other healthcare providers. The Department is also responsible for providing a Medical Equipment Library service.

The post holder provides specialised logistics support under the direction of the Senior Logistics Lead.
The post holder will require the ability to prioritise demands, accommodate unplanned events and work without direct supervision.
The post holder needs to be able to achieve a high level of accuracy in numerical, word documents and Excel.
The post holder covers absences within the team with functions of medical device processing and distribution.
The post holder must always maintain professionalism, often in difficult or pressured environments.
The post holder will be involved in stock handling, raising orders, deliveries, chasing orders and assisting fully in the wider Teams functions.
Post holder will provide cover for essential roles performed by other member of the team including within our equipment processing room and returning medical devices to wards.

1.1. Based in Clinical Engineering Department or other sites when required.
1.2. Understands and can operate the stores processes within Clinical Engineering in support of the Logistics and Stock Manager function.
1.3. Places orders with external suppliers and Supply Chain using the Oracle Purchasing System and Genesis System with appropriate compliance withstanding financial instructions as required by the Logistics and Stock Manager.
1.4. Undertaking stock takes when required.
1.5. Monitors repaired equipment in Clinical Engineering and returns equipment to the Medical Equipment Library, Wards or Departments as appropriate
1.6. Decontaminates equipment, reporting excessive or high-risk contamination to the appropriate Team Leader
1.7. Assists with the Trusts Medical Devices database housekeeping.
1.8. Logs requests into the Trusts Medical Devices database.
1.9. Engages with relevant training courses to enable achievement of competencies and assembly of a personal portfolio supportive of future progression in the Clinical Engineering Logistics speciality.
1.10. Provides reports to management team on stock issues.
