Senior Legal Counsel (12 month FTC)

London | Hybrid

I am working with a fast‑growing, tech‑led business operating internationally that is looking to hire a senior legal counsel on a 12 month fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave, with potential to extend.

This is a broad in‑house role with real autonomy, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business and supporting continued growth.

The role

You will support the business across a wide range of commercial and corporate matters, working as a key member of a small legal team.

Key responsibilities
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and technology agreements
  • Advising on SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, reseller and vendor contracts
  • Supporting sales, product and commercial teams on client contracts and RFPs
  • Managing contract workflows and improving legal processes
  • Updating templates and legal playbooks
  • Advising on data protection and regulatory issues
  • Supporting on corporate, governance and employment matters
  • Working closely with risk, compliance, finance, tech and product teams
About you

This role will suit someone who enjoys operating in a fast‑paced environment and being close to the business.

You are likely to be:

  • UK‑qualified solicitor with around 6+ years PQE
  • Experienced in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology contracts
  • Comfortable working across a broad in‑house remit rather than a narrow specialism
  • Confident managing stakeholders and working autonomously
  • Ideally already working in‑house within tech, fintech, SaaS or a scale‑up environment
  • Familiar with data protection and privacy matters
  • Experience working with financial institutions is a plus but not essential
Why apply
  • Senior, high‑trust role with genuine autonomy
  • International, high‑growth business
  • Broad and interesting work across multiple jurisdictions
  • Hybrid working
  • Strong culture and benefits
